AT THE MARKETPLACE AT PORT ST. LUCIE DEVCON
ENTERPRISES SIGNS KEISER COLLEGE TO A 48,466 S/F 10-YR LEASE
PORT ST. LUCIE, FL: Devcon Enterprises, Inc.
of West Hartford has signed Keiser College to a 10-year lease
at The Marketplace at Port St. Lucie. Keiser College
joins an already diverse tenant mix at the center.
Keiser College was founded by the Keiser family in Fort
Lauderdale in 1977. Still calling Fort Lauderdale home,
with 13 campuses throughout Florida, and still run by the
Keiser family, the College offers degrees in high-demand
fields in medical, business, computer technology, and legal
disciplines. Accredited by the Southern Association of
Colleges and Schools to award the Associate’s Degree and
Bachelor’s Degree, Keiser offers small class sizes and
scheduling that accommodates working adults across its 13
campus locations totaling over 8,200 students
The 48,466 s/f location will provide student classrooms for
instruction and state of the art offices for teaching staff
which will surely benefit the students of the college.
Keiser College is a proven success in the market having
operated in a much smaller space just north of this location
for many years. Their
success at that location paved the way for expanding into a
larger space at this center.
Construction is set to begin in the
second quarter of this year with an anticipated opening by the
third or fourth quarter of 2006. This school will occupy the anchor location and will
bring the shopping center's occupancy to back to its
historical 100% level, which it has maintained since Devcon
developed the center in 1998.
The Marketplace at Port St. Lucie is one of the premier
retail centers in town given its strategic ground zero
location in the heart of the city located at the intersection
of U.S. Route 1 and Port St. Lucie Boulevard.
Keiser College will compliment a tenant roster that is
already impressive in both credit and diversity. National tenants include Dollar Tree, Aaron Rents, Hollywood
Video, HealthSouth Corporation, Wendy’s Hamburgers, Friedman
Jewelers, The UPS Store, Bon Worth, Huntington Learning
Centers, Cici’s Pizza and Supercuts.
Regional tenants include Goodwill Boutique, Cash Plus,
Hospice of Martin County, Oxford Academy and World Savings
Bank. Several
local tenants include C & C Insurance, Double Dragon
Restaurant, K-Nails and Donna’s Drop-off Laundry Service.
